Anyone attending Tobacco Outlet's premier cigar dinner at Osteria de Medici was in for a real treat! The highlight cigar tasting of the evening was the Davidoff Special T which I had the pleasure of trying recently. I have always been a fan of Davidoff, they always present themselves well and never disappoint and this gem is no exception. A perfect size to compliment a great dinner at 6 x 52 fluted torpedo with a claro wrapper, as always flawless. Upon lighting, I was instantly hit with what I can only describe as Bernard Callebaut milk chocolate with a hint of vanilla bean and a candied orange sweetness...wonderful! As the cigar evolved into the second third, a slight white pepper is noticed with leather and nutmeg nuances. The leather builds throughout the remainder of the cigar with a Serrano coffee and cream finish that leaves you wanting more. This is not a strong cigar, mild to medium but it's flavour and smoothness make it a very elegant and refined smoke. A true pleasure to smoke!
